About Us
The solution to every problem is in Sabr (patience) and Istigfaar (seeking forgiveness)
Umar Education & Welfare Trust, Coventry (UEWT) was established on 28th May 2012. The Trust is a registered charity and relies on donations for the purchase of the building and the day-to-day running costs of the Centre.
With the expanding Muslim community in the proximity of the Centre, The Umar Education & Welfare Centre is a Central Hub to support the needs of our local community.
The main objectives of the charity as set out in the constitution are as follows: –
Providing Islamic education to local Muslim children and adult men and women.
Providing space for the users to undertake daily congregation prayers when they are accessing the centre
Partnering with local organisations to educate the local community about Islam and Muslims to promote peace and harmony
Providing a place for recreation, training, Islamic education, socialising and networking.
UEWT promotes and teaches consideration for others. Compassion, tolerance and co-existence are all Islamic virtues. We advise people that they are duty bound to contribute to the common good, in a spirit of co-operation with their fellow human beings.
Meet the Team
The Centre is run and supported by 5 Trustees, a number of Scholars, volunteers and most importantly by you. We hope you provide further details about the team on this website soon and with your participation would like to nominate a person each year that you feel has contributed to the local community.
Supporting Our Community
We will be holding regular support visits to Elderly people in our local community In association with Age UK.
Supporting the Vulnerable in our local community. Weekly collection of Food to donate in our local Food Banks.
Please note all our activities will be carried out and supervised by DBS Cleared Volunteers. Please put yourself forward in volunteering as without enough participation we are unable to carry out the activities we would like to pursue to help develop our Centre.
